The fragrant, lavender blue flowers of Phacelia – or blue tansy – are one of the top honey-producing flowers for honey bees. They also attract a range of beneficial predatory insects into the garden. Plants have lacy green foliage and they grow to just above the knee. Phacelia grows well on poor soil and in cold conditions, it flowers profusely over a long period and for this reason its often planted into vegetable gardens where it not only looks good but serves to increase the beneficial insect numbers and diversity through providing a reliable source of nectar and pollen. Germination guaranteed.
